Developing a health equality imagination

Hospital practice challenges for social work priorities

Roslyn Giles

Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney, Sydney 2006, NSW, Australia, r.giles{at}edfac.usyd.edu.au

English

Critical reflection on hospital social work practices opens the door to question the profession’s response to growing international health inequalities. The development of a health equality imagination provides a driver to challenge and reframe practice that promotes comprehensive actions in both direct practice and education.

Key Words: critically reflective practice • health inequality • imagination • change • social work priorities
