Eleanor Ross

School of Human and Community Development University of the Witwatersrand, Private Bag 3, Wits, SA 2050, South Africa, Eleanor.Ross{at}wits.ac.za

English

This article interrogates various African cultural beliefs and practices, and advocates for the development of an indigenous Afro-centric model of social work to promote the healing process, and as a way of teaching social work students about the dilemmas inherent in respecting cultural practices which impinge on the rights of others.
